Agenda topics:

1. REVISION OF BY LAWS

DISCUSSION; BY-LAW REVISION: According to the current by laws: Any member may ask for a revision of the by-laws. All members will be sent a copy of the proposed revision and will be given at least two (2) weeks to respond. The decision to accept the revision will be made by a 2/3 majority of the members.

CONCLUSIONS A revision of the current by laws was requested. It was discussed and a conclusion was determined.

On Thursday February 5, 2009 Celinda L will send out the current by laws to members. We will have one week (Feb. 12th ) to review and suggest revisions to the current by laws. Anilu, Claudia, Celinda and Jen will meet and prepare document for presentation. At the next meeting scheduled (March 3rd ) the suggestions will be presented and voted on.

2. SHOULD WE HAVE OFFICERS

DISCUSSION Should we even have officers? Maybe we can have contact people but not officers.

CONCLUSIONS Members felt that yes we should have officers in order to have structure.


3. LEADERSHIP OF EAGLE PASS

DISCUSSION Should our group have a representative to be part of the committee and in turn bring back information for our members. Who could we designate for this?

CONCLUSIONS A couple of the ladies attended a meeting Tuesday night and Jen R voiced her interest in being the representative for our group. Votes were taken and it was decided that Jen R would be the representative. We also voted on sponsoring half of her membership dues which would be $87.50. The total membership fee is $175.00.

9 paid members were present and 9 voted in favor of this decision.

If someone would like make a monetary donation towards the membership dues for Jen please contact Natalie E.


4. LOCATION OF MONTHLY MEETINGS

DISCUSSION Location of monthly meetings has been at one member’s home for several meetings.

CONCLUSIONS Members would like to opportunity to host meetings. We did have members volunteer.

Our next meeting will be at Rachael H’s home March 3rd , our April 7th meeting will be at
Rose C's and our May 7th will be at Natalie E's home.

If someone would like to volunteer their home please let Celinda L know in order to mark the calendar and send out the invitation to the meeting.


5. COMMITTEES

DISCUSSION Should we have different Committees? Example: Social Committee and Business Committee

Instead of having one or two people handling events, we should distribute responsibilities amongst members. The social committee would coordinate baby showers, going away parties etc. and the Business Committee would coordinate representing us at the mixers in Del Rio for incoming trainees and also mixers for trainees when they return.

CONCLUSIONS Several members are interested in helping out and would enjoy participating in these committees. If members are interested in such committees they can be started if they would like to. A conclusion of who would be interested in what area was not formally decided.


Special notes

VALENTINE’S DAY!!! Natalie E had a great idea: We should have something for the guys for Valentine’s Day: maybe cookies, cupcakes, treats, etc.


Rose C will be collecting items on Friday and will be responsible for distribution on Saturday morning and afternoon for both stations. Please contact her if you would like to donate something or if you would like to help her out.


CALENDAR OF EVENTS Distribution of monthly calendar of events shall be sent via e-mail to members in order in improve our awareness of upcoming events. If you would like to add something for a certain day such as birthday party, or other things please e-mail Celinda L.
